Security Profile Settings - Position Management

This article explains how security profiles must be configured in order for users to access and use the Position Management Module.

Security settings for Position Management are available in the Position Management section under the HR tab of the user’s Security Profile under Company Settings > Profiles/Policies > Security.

  • Company Settings – This setting gives user’s permission to View or View/Edit the settings within the Position Management widget under Company Settings > Global Setup > Company Setup.
  • Positions – This setting gives user’s several viewing permissions for Positions under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions. Additionally, the Add and Delete checkboxes can be checked to allow users to add and delete positions in this area.
    • View/Edit – This selection will give users the ability to view and edit all allowable fields for a position, as configured under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions.
    • View (w/o Amounts) – This selection will give users the ability to only view the fields for a position, but not allow visibility to amounts, as configured under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions. When the Positions permission is set to View (w/o Amounts), and the user is assigned to this security profile, the user is not able to view the Total Amount Per Year column when the user selects the View Budget History icon within the Position Budget widget under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions.
    • View (w/Amounts) - This selection will give users the ability to only view the fields for a position, and will allow visibility to amounts, as configured under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions.
  • Employee Assignments - This setting gives user’s several viewing permissions for assigning employees to positions under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions.
    • View (w/o Amounts) – This selection will give users the ability to only view the fields for a position, but not allow visibility to amounts, as configured under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions.
    • View (w/Amounts) - This selection will give users the ability to only view the fields for a position, and will allow visibility to amounts, as configured under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions. When the Employee Assignments permission is set to View (w/o Amounts), and the user is assigned to this security profile, the user is not able to view the columns listed below when the user selects the View Assignment History icon within the Employees Assigned To The Position widget under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions.
      • Annual Position Base Comp
      • Annual Position Supplemental Comp
      • Total Position Comp
      • Avg. Annual Budgeted Total Comp
    • View Assign Employees to Subordinate Positions – This selection will give users the ability to view and edit all allowable fields for certain positions, as configured under Company Settings > HR Setup > Positions.
    • Assign Employees to ANY Position – Checking this setting will allow users to assign the employees to any position. The user will be able to see all positions which have a reports-to relationship with the position the user is assigned to.
    • Position Hierarchy Chart – This setting gives users the ability to view the Position Hierarchy Chart.
